CTI Digital supports junior hackathon at Hulme Grammar School
This week, CTI Digital was proud to support the Hulme Grammar School Junior Hackathon, with 100 pupils aged between 8-18 from primary and secondary schools across Greater Manchester.
CTI developers and tech leads mentored students throughout the 12 hours of collaborative problem solving, alongside experts from the Brenda Mills Institute of Innovation and Technology, and Ada, the National College for Digital Skills.
Students were challenged to “make education better” by creating a digital product via access to platforms such as Gemini and Lovable, as well as hardware including VR headsets.
Pupils addressed the needs of their peers, ranging from revision aids to support for special educational needs and disability (SEND).
CTI Digital developer Gwyl Richards said, “The students were unbelievably talented and committed. I had a great time and loved being able to offer my insight.”
The junior hackathon’s aims included bridging the ‘classroom to career’ gap, encouraging the development of soft skills, promoting inclusion across STEAM subjects, and having fun whilst encouraging discussion of digital wellness and ethics.
Well done to all the students involved, and good luck with your future builds!
